Some Cards for Hanukkah

Well Happy Hanukkah to those of you that celebrate it. We had a party on Saturday night. There were tons of latkes. I premade them in the morning because I hate to fry with a house full of people. Boy were they good. Here are a few Hanukkah cards I made this week. I will just have to get them out the door before the end of the holiday. I also made some cookies to give out at work.

Letterpress Update.

So I called Quickutz and they have agreed to send me replacement plate for the ones I used in the Letterpress. Hopefully these will not crack. They told me to try the others sets I purchased and if they crack they will replace them. I have lots of testing to do. Anyway Kudos to Quickutz for standing behind their product.

Letterpress, try try again

So I took a chance and opened another set of plates. This is the holiday one with a beautiful tree. Yes it is cracking too. With some adjustments the actual printing is amazing. It seems like the cracks are mostly from the areas where the plates were attached during the manufacturing process. Now I am torn. Do I take all this back today and fight with the store because I had to use and open several different packages to figure out that the plates crack, including paper, wipes and plates or do I wait and call Quickutz on Monday to replace the plates. I bought 6 sets of the plates at AC Moore with my holiday money. So I have a lot to return. I am glad I did not wait until the holiday to test it. Here is my first very simple card. I wish you could see the debossed surface in the scan. The best thing is no ink or debossing shows through to the other side. It looks very close to a professional print. Well, I have to say I have been inspired. I spent all day yesterday looking at real Letter presses for sale online. They are huge and quite expensive but a girl can dream.

Letterpress Fun?

I bought the Lifestyles Letterpress yesterday and I am so disappointed. The printing plates are cracking after one use. I am using it in an Epic 6. The plates and Letterpress came in a set. I'm really not sure what to do. I don't know if it is just the set that came with the machine that is faulty or they all are faulty. I bought a few more extra designs but I am afraid to use them as then I will not be able to return them. You can easily clean everything up with a little bit of vegetable oil on a paper towel. Then wash off.

Holiday Cards

So I finally had a chance to work on a few Holiday cards. In my area, people are so many different nationalities and religions, so I usually send a holiday card. I would hate to offend anyone, especially my business acquaintances.
The first card uses several punches by Martha Stewart and Marvy. The lace is an antique piece from my collection. I used Stickles for the glitter accents. The stamps in the second card are Studio 490 and Memory Box. I used Distress Ink to color and stamp.

Digital Two for Tueday

Here is my card for Digital Two for Tuesday. I sure had fun decorating this one. I probably should have stopped before the flowers but I was having so much fun.

Modern ATC

This is an ATC I made using the Clearly Vintage stamp set Modern Woman. I used bits of the stamp to create the umbrella border. Don't forget that all the stamp sets are 40% through the end of the month if you order directly from me. There is more information here.

Paper Punches and Glitter Oh My

Well here is another around the page punch set I picked up with a 50% of coupon at Michaels. I am still working on my precision with this one but I kind of like the off look on this card. The snowflake is also a punch from Martha Stewart and the glitter is some of her tinsel glitter. This glitter is so amazing. Though you can't see the sparkle in the photo. I put it on the snowflakes in a hotel in New Jersey. I was on a business trip and did this at night. So if you come across a room with little sparkles here and there you know I was there. The red background of the card is a 5x7 snowflake Cuttlebug folder I ordered from HSN.

Cooking - More MS Punches

I know it is a sickness. I just love these edge punches. This is a card I made using an image from my other blog Clearly Vintage. My printer is running out of ink, but sometimes it creates the most amazing effects. So this image printed pink. It happened to work great with the paper I chose. The punches on this card are all from Martha Stewart.

Lots of MS Punches

So I am addicted to punches and Martha Stewart has come out with some great ones this year. This is a card I made using several of the punches. The stamp is by Darcies. I rubbed some clear stickles on the tree that unfortunately just shows up as a shadow in the photo. The background is another one of my vices a new 5x7 christmas Cuttlebug embossing folder. The red is some stickles I rubbed on the background.

My Favorite Holiday Card from Last Year

This was my favorite holiday card from last year. It was so simple. It was accented with Stickles on the wings. Each card only took a few minutes to assemble. I usually make over 200 hundred cards for friends and family. I probably design several dozen cards. I often get bored making the same one over and over but this one was so cute I made 50. Oh, to think of another easy but great idea for this year.

This is a card I made for my big brother. He is turning 50 next month. Where does the time go? I used another of my new cuttlebug embossing folders on this one. The background stamps are Studio 490.

Fall Treats

So fall is definitely in the air. It was quite nippy last night. I can use my down comforter again. Yeah!! This is a gift bag I made using a pattern and stamps from Darcies. Some more of the goodies from last weeks stamp show. I stamped the tissue paper sticking out of the top and the homemade bag with stamps from Studio 490.

Playing in the Sand

Here is my entry for the Digital Two for Tuesday challenge this week. I just love this little girl in the sand. I colored her with Copic markers. I am fortunate that I have not had any issues with my ink running from the Copics. My printer/scanner is a Canon. The background embossing was done with two different Cuttlebug embossing folders. The charm is by Junkitz. I made the sand by using 2 colors of Distress Stickles;Distress Straw and Antique Linen. The two seashells my daughter found at the beach in Ocean City, MD last week.

Two For Tuesday Bathing Beauty of Summer

Here is my project for Digital Two for Tuesday this week. I painted a masonite panel with Golden's acrylic paint, distressed and stamped with Ranger Distress ink and then added an old book page to the bottom of the piece. I them covered it all with Golden's Gel Medium. The scrapbook pieces are by EK Success. The bullseye bottle cap is from a beer bottle. I colored the Two Tuesday image with Copics and punched it with the swiss cheese border punch from EK.
