Diamond Girl in Distress

Here is a tag for the Tag Your It challenge diamonds. This tag was an experiment in masking. First I stamped the girl on my tag and then I stamped another on a spare sheet of paper. I cut out the mask of the girl and place it on top of my stamped image. I then stamped the diamond pattern. I inked the blue accents by putting Distress Ink on Cut and Dry foam and dabbing it where I wanted it. The last step was to used the ink stain stamp from Invoke to make it look more distressed.. I store my masks in the same binder as the unmounted stamp so I can use is again.

Paisley Box

For Art Adventure this week here is a cardboard box I altered. I painted the whole box with black gesso. The paper on the top and sides is DCDW. I added stamping to the side papers and the lip of the box. I added large wooden balls from the craft store as feet. They are painted with black gesso. The handle on the top is 7 Gypsies. I sprayed the whole box with clear lacquer.

About Faces

I have two face cards for the Crazy Amigo challenge. I made them almost identical. The stamp ink and the background Distress Ink is different in each one. The stamps are Beeswax and Stamp Camp.

Butterfly fly

The theme at Arty Girlz this week is butterfly. This is a butterfly pin I made. I stamped the image from Lost Coast with Stazon on the green stone. The wings are a Paula Best stamp printed with Stazon on Metal. The beads and stones are from Sugar Beads.
There is a wonderful project called The Butterfly Project for the Houston Holocaust Musuem. They are trying to collect 1,500,000 butterflies for an exhibit in 2012. 1,500,000 is how many children died in the Holocaust. You may want to contribute your own little butterfly to this project.

So What's Up With Me

So I am usually a little better at updating my blog. What is up with Cora you may be saying. Those who follow my blog know I have been out of work. Well, I got a job offer this week. It is for a wonderful company that manufactures lighting. I will be selling their products to architects and designers around the country. Exciting news anyday to get a job but in this economy I am thrilled. Perhaps my pick me painting from a few weeks ago worked.

My other good news is that my stamp sets are in manufacturing as we speak. They should be ready for purchase by March 1, 2009. I have been so busy making samples and posting them over at Clearly Vintage. I will be selling the new sets in my Etsy shop. To see all the sneak peeks click here. The set pictured in this post is Native American. Please be sure to leave me a message if you would like to pre order any of the sets as the supplies are limited this first order.
