New Year

So it is New Year's Eve tonight. We are having a little get together of 16 people. It is starting to snow so hopefully it won't get cancelled. Everyone who is driving lives only a few miles away. We are cooking part of the dinner on the grill. I hope the back deck doesn't get too covered. Well anyway, Happy New Year to everyone! Thank you for making my blog such a success and giving me the drive to create new and wonderful things. I am hoping to create some new vintage stamps early this year.

Happy New Year!!!!

Created by Hand Pastel or Chalk Challenge

The challenge at Created by Hand this week is to use Pastels or Chalk in your work. I have to admit I do not use them very often as they leave my hands feeling dry. This is an experiment using Clay Paper. I used the chalks to color the molded clay paper. I thought they would be a better choice to color the clay.

Mixed Media - What I Loved Doing In 2008

The theme at Mixed Media Monday is What I Loved Doing in 2008. I loved making new friends who enjoy collage art as much as I. This is a mixed media piece I made using stamping, ink, grungeboard and lots of ephemera.

Some more cool projects from 2008

Here are a few more of my favorite projects from this year using some of my vintage images. The bottle cap bracelet I gave to my niece for her graduation from college. The Halloween bracelet I made using vintage postcards and findings from Sugarbeads. The other bracelet uses some papers from my stash of odds and ends. I just was experimenting using bracelet blanks and glass pebbles from Target.

My Daughter 's Artwork

So my daughter drew me a great picture this morning while I was posting on my other blog. It is she and I doing The Nutcracker Ballet. This is a picture of a dream she had last night. I have not done any ballet since I was 8 years old. I love how she drew the audience.

Wednesday Stamper Bows

I chose this image because of the big bow. The theme at Wednesday Stamper this week is Bows. The image is one of my Satuday Image Bonuses.

Christmas Album

This is an album I made using my Nestabilities for the shape of the book. I used the Mega label dies in the largest size. I punches the paper, then the chipboard shape. The Nestabilities went through thin chipboard quite easily. You really on need thin chipboard for this project as you cover both sides with patterned paper making your pages quite substantial. The paper for this project is a pad from My Minds Eye for Christmas. The punches are from Punch Bunch. The stamps are Studio G. I was able to curve the clear tis the season stamp on my acrylic block to mimic the shape on the paper. I used a Bind it All to bind the book.

Star Ornament

Here is a star ornament I made using the Making Memories Slice. The directions are available on You Tube by Jennifer Mcguire. This was really simple to make with the Slice.

My New Slice

Well of course I had to jump on the bandwagon and buy a new Slice by Making Memories. I couldn't resist buying it at AC Moore. It is a great little portable die cutting machine. So far I say it is a great tool. My only issue is that some of the cuts are not as straight as I would like. I contacted MM and they said they are aware of the issues.

Here are a few cards I made using the Slice. All of the cut outs except the snowflakes were made with the Slice.

Children ATC's

The theme at Theme Thursday this week is Children ATC's. Here is my entry. The stamps were stamped on a light green cardstock I then used Distress Inks to color the background and children. The stamps are from my Clearly Vintage line of stamps. I just love these cute images of children from the past.

Outline Christmas

I just love Outlines stamps. Here is an ornament and a card I made using stamps by Outlines. The directions for the ornament is on the Outlines site. Both of these projects use a ton of embossing powder.

A Drive By Card Lift

I was at this wonderful blog The Shamrock Stamper last week and saw a lovely card that I decided to copy. I made some changes and added lots of glitz(which does not show in this photo).

I used my Nestabilities for all the layers. The stamps are Inkadinkadoo and Studio G. The snowflakes are by Punch Bunch.
