Hi. I hope you all are doing well on this cold day.  This project is one I made after taking an online class with Junelle Jacobsen.  I love her fun whimsical style.  It is a combination of paper piecing and acrylic paints/ mediums.

Fall Tag Tutorial - Using New Distress paints

Yesterday I got my shipment of the new Distress Paint colors from Marco Paper. There are six yummy colors in total. I decided to try all of them on a tag. At first I was not sure how they would look all together but in the end they definitely spoke to me.

Tim Holtz Distress Paints; Ripe Persimmon, Scattered Straw, Gathered Twig, Pumice Stone, Dusty Concord, Crushed Olive,
Studio 490 Stamps; Well Worn Art,
Tim Holtz Layering Stencils; Dot Fade, Honeycomb,
Tim Holtz Distress Markers; Mowed Lawn, Picket Fence,
Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink; Potting Soil,
VersaColor Ink Cube; Pinecone,
Ranger Nonstick Craft Sheet
Manila Tag
Natural Jute Cord
Water Mister
Heat Embossing Gun

Directions:
Using the Honeycomb stencil lay down each color of Distress Paint. About an inch of each color. Gently dab so that the paint does not run under the stencil. Gently mist with water. Quickly remove stencil and dry with a heat gun.

Add some paint to the craft sheet and mist. Rub tag in misted colors.

Dry with heat gun. Place Dot Fade stencil on top of tag and dab on the Gathered Twig Distress Paint. Add the Versacolor Pinecone ink to the edge of tag.

Stamp the flower and alphabet image from the Well Worn set onto the tag using Potting Soil Archival Ink.

When dry, color stem with Mowed Lawn Distress Marker and finish with Pickett Fence marker to add highlights.

Add Picket Fence marker to craft sheet and spray with mister.

Rub tag in white mist to add droplets to the tag.

Tie jute cord through hole in tag.  Fray cord.

Onesie Using New Martha Stewart Multi Surface Paint

I discovered some wonderful new paints from Martha Stewart this weekend at Michaels. They can be used on lots of different surfaces including metal,wood,fabric and glass. The new line of Martha Stewart paints also includes lots of fun tools, stencils and mediums. I bought the fabric medium to make the paint permanent on fabrics. You just add paint to the medium and mix. It is really simple. I decided to stencil on a baby onesie. I used the color Goji Berry in satin finish. The stencils are from the set Fair Isle Dots. After stenciling onto the onesie I ironed the design to heat set.

This card was made from stamps by Memory Box and colored with Copic markers.

Zentangle Madness

I have recently gotten into a form of doodling called Zentangle. This is one of my first attempts.  I love my new pen.  It is a Gel Xtreme 0.7.  The paper is Artagain by Strathmore.

Having Fun With Dylusions

Last weekend I played with some new Dylusions stamps and Spray Mists I got at a stamp show. They are so much fun to play with. Even I can be an expert doodle maker. The background was made using the Distress Stains. I stenciled the circles with a stencil from Balzer Designs and brown Versacolor. I use this small worn-out cube of Versacolor to ink images and for light stenciling. The image of the girl was colored with Distress Markers.

Vintage Look Jewelry

Last weekend I experimented making some jewelry. This was made using a plastic blank and image from Darcies. The small charm was from Michaels. The metal blank by Vintaj was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sanded.

Girls, Girls, Girls

I have been practicing drawing different types of girls.  These are the girls before I have added color.

Unfortunately this one was on the reverse side of the girl I posted yesterday.  Note to self:  When using Copics do not place drawings on both sides of a page.  This was heavy watercolor paper so I was surprised but those Copics soak into the paper.

My Girl

This is homework from another online class I am taking called Drawing the Girls taught by Martha Lever.

 I colored this one with Copic markers.  The background is Versafine through a stencil by Tim Holtz.  After looking at this one for awhile I decided I needed more interest.  So I added tissue paper to the background, silk paint and gesso.  The stencil on the shirt is by Tim Holtz.

Frolicaholic Class With Jane Davenport

I have been taking a journaling class online called Frolicaholic with Jane Davenport. I have taken this class before but finally Jane has made it live. If you have never taken a class with Jane you are missing a wonderful treat. She is a great teacher.
This week I worked on making my journal and cover. The journal is made with one of my favorite papers called Stonehenge. It is a great printmaking paper that takes pencils and acrylic paint well.

I painted my journal with Ceramcoat and Deco Art Traditions paint. The stencil is by Michelle Ward. I shaded the face on the back cover using Pitt Big Brush markers.

Mermalicious Class With Jane Davenport

I was lucky enough to attend a class taught by Jane Davenport this weekend at Donna Downey Studios in Hunterville, NC. Boy was it fun to spend a whole long weekend creating art. Jane is a great teacher and a lot of fun. We created a book of beautiful mermaid creatures. Here is one of my pages in progress.

Many Thanks Card Using Anna Griffin Dies and Embossing Folders

I just love Anna Griffin's style, so I could not resist last week when she was on HSN buying the TSV. Here is a card I created for a friend who I recently went to visit. This was made with the dies and embossing folders from the kit. The stamp is an old Anna Griffin one that I got at Michael's.

New Toys

I got some new toys in the mail today. I preordered these awhile ago so I could not wait to play. The black thing is made by Tim Holtz to use with Distress Markers like an airbrush.

I created this card. Stamp is by Memory Box. Inks are Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink by Ranger. Marker airbrush tool and stencil are by Tim Holtz.

I created the 3D flower using embossing paste by Viva Decor. I mixed it with a little Primary Red Americana craft paint. To create the flower I used an old metal stencil by Me and My Big Ideas. I then heated it to make it puffy. I added highlights with Pan Pastels and Faber Castell Big Brush markers.
