Snow Day is Watercolor Sketch Day
Thank goodness we got 10 inches and did not get the 30 inches they were predicting. It did give me time in between shoveling the walkways to do some watercolor sketching.
I still do not have the journaling thing down. I always feel foolish adding words to my sketches.

Watercolor Sketchbook
This is the palette I created for the class using a Tim Holtz Ink Palette. it is great because the lid works great for color mixing. I use a water brush to apply the paint. I am using Arches paper.

Watercolor Bookmark Using Golden's QOR
I made this bookmark today using Golden's QOR Watercolors and Stabilo markers. The outline was done with a Faber Castell Fine marker in black. I used an Auabrush to apply Watercolors to the drawing. I added addititional accents by applying the Stabilo markers to the edges of the flowers then applying water with my Aquabrush. The markers melt like Watercolors for a beautiful effect.

My New Toys
I received a bunch of Zig Woodcraft Paint Markers for a gift and could not resist making a color chart.
I always make a color chart. So when I am painting I know exactly what color to reach for. The Zig Woodcraft Paint Markers have a lovely matte finish. Hopefully, I will have time later this week to take these out for a test drive.

Three Holiday Cards
This card uses a Anna Griffin Snowfall embossing folder and a Martha Stewart edge punch set. I lightly inked the raised embossing with Festive Berries and Iced Spruce. The tree image is stamped with Distress Ink with Iced Spruce. The words are stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink.
I used Archival Inks for this one. I love how the kraft paper absorbed the ink and caused some spread. I inked the edges with worn Versacolor Pinecone cube.
For this one I used the same embossing folder as the first card on white card stock and accented with Stella Winks Brush in Clear.

Four One Minute Holiday Cards, One Anna Griffin Embossing Folder
1. This was made with paper with a white core. After running it through the Cuttlebug I sanded away the raised areas.
2. This card was made by running a red paper with a white core through the Cuttlebug and sanding it. Then glue the paper to a cream colored card. Ink edges with Distress Ink in Festive Berries.
3. This one is very basic. Emboss a cream card and then use Wink of Stella Clear Brush to add glitter accents.
4. This is a kraft paper card embossed with the Anna Griffin folder. Color by taking the Festive Berries Distress Ink pad and rubbing it directly onto the raised part of the image. I purposely got some of the red on the debosed area in places to give it a distressed look.
