Flowers in the Snow

This week we got pounded with snow again. Though it was beautiful to see, it was like shoveling 22” of concrete. Many of our neighbors lost electricity but we were lucky the lights only flickered for a few minutes.

What better craft on a snowy day than paper flowers. I love the way the daffodils came out but the peonies do not look as realistic.  I used too many contrasting papers in the peonies. I got the patterns for these at DesignSponge.  The crepe paper is from Carte Fini, Castle in the Air and Papermart. They have an amazing variety of papers.  

Missing Spring - Crepe Paper Flowers

I hate the cold weather and have been missing spring so I decided this weekend to make my own garden using crepe paper.  Surprisingly the results are pretty life like.  The crepe paper is extremely pliable and can easily be manipulated into petals and stamen.  These are made with crepe paper from Paper Mart, Carte Fino and Castle in the Air.  I used several different blogs for reference including Lia Griffith, Design Sponge and Tiffanie Turner.
