Here is my Arch for the Gothic Arch challenge this week. The theme is Asian. The scan is very faint so please click on the photo to view the larger image. More Transfers

These didn't come out as well. I will have to get some copies tomorrow from a print shop and see how they work.

Claudine Hellmuth Transfer Method - First Try

So here is my first try with this new transfer method using Ranger Paint Daubers as the transfer medium. It came out great. I used an photo printed on regular paper from staples on my Canon MP730. Even though it was an ink jet print it came out great. I used the silver paint so the scan is not completely accurate. I can never get metallic right in a scan. Anyway, you can see that the transfer is great for a first try. See the instructions in the You Tube video below.

Cool Photo Image Transfer w/ Claudine Hellmuth

I found on You Tube this photo image transfer video by Claudine Hellmuth. She uses Ranger Paint Daubers. I love image transfers and can't wait to try this process. Very Cool. Click on the video below to see her demonstrate the technique.

Four Sisters

The theme at Gothic Arch this week is Heritage. The photo I used this week are my great -grandmother and her sisters. She is the one on the left. Her name was Ernestine and her sisters names were Lena, Molly and Celia. I don't know which one is which. My mom is named after Celia. The family name was Gemeiner. Unfortunately, I never got to meet any of them. It is such a lovely photo. I look at it and wonder what they were like.
The stamps are Gelatins and Anna Griffin. The ink is Versafine.

Saturday Image Bonus 28

Here are 5 victorian trade cards from the 1880's for Easter. They are all blank on the back. Most blank cards were sold to companies to give out to there customers. Often these were stamped with the name of a grocer or other establishment as a way of advertising.

So I used him for this tribute to all the brave soldiers who fight to protect us.

Leprechaun Trap

So my daughter had to make a leprechaun trap for a school project. I assigned this project to my husband, since I have no clue about this holiday. I do know you drink a lot but I don't think that would go over big in the 1st grade. My husband promised to help create the perfect trap. Of course yesterday, after two weeks my husband says you are the artsy one. You have to help her with this one.

So this is what happens when you take 2 people who like to do paper crafts but have no idea how to catch a leprechaun. The yellow square inside the box is fly paper.

So Lucky!

Here is my Gothic Arch for this week The theme is Celtic. The image is from an old postcard. The stamps are Studio G and Memory Box. Happy St Patty's Day to all who celebate it.

I have included the reverse of one of the cards. These date early 1890's. A few of them were very damaged and I tried to repair them the best I could with the software I currently have available.

Skinny Saturday Monday's Child Challenge

The challenge this week at Skinny Saturday is to make a skinny (3x5) based on the poem Monday's Child.

Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day Is bonny and good and gay.

I decided to make one based on Thursday's child. The photo is from a tintype I picked up at a flea market.
